Character Counts theme for November - "Respect"

The Character Counts theme for the month of November at the Anaheim Hills campus is RESPECT.  Our main focus during classroom discussions will include the following:

Treat others with respect ~ Follow the "Golden Rule" ~ Be tolerant of differences ~ Use good manners, not bad language ~ Be considerate of the feelings of others ~ Don't threaten, hit or hurt anyone ~ Deal peacefully with anger, insults and disagreements.

The theme color for the month will be yellow and gold.  We will be having a special Character Counts free dress during the month to promote respect.

Please continue to talk to your children at home about respect. This is so important as we try to build great leaders to make our society a better place to live.  Thank you.

Mr. Drake

Progress reports delayed

Parents,

We have had a couple of glitches with our computer program that creates Progress Reports.  They were supposed to be sent home Friday, October 12th.  We will be sending them home early next week. We will keep you posted and I sincerely apologize for the delay.

October 5th - National Denim Day to fight breast cancer

Lee Jeans is proud to sponsor their annual "Lee National Denim Day" on Friday, October 5th. This is the largest single-day fundraiser for breast cancer. Show your support for the fight against breast cancer by wearing your favorite pair of jeans, or any denim, in exchange for a minimum donation of $5.   This is not a denim or free dress day for students unless a donation is made.  Please make checks payable to Lee National Denim Day and turn them into your homeroom teachers.  Thank you for supporting this great cause to find the cure for breast cancer.  I hope to see a lot of denim on the 5th!!!

""Character Counts" Free Dress on Friday, Sep. 21

All students will have "Character Counts" free dress on Friday, September 21st.  The students are to dress in the color of the pillar they want to work on the most during the 2007-2008 school year.  For example, if they really want to practice caring, they should wear red on Friday.  Here are the pillars and colors:

Trustworthiness = blue                  Respect = yellow/gold

Responsibility = green                    Fairness = orange

Caring= red                                  Citizenship = purple

Teaching character is going to be an important part of the curriculum in all classes this year.  We are excited about developing leaders who will model and teach character to make our communities a better place to live and work.
